Safety and Suitability of Premises, Environment and Equipment
Evergreen Early Years ensures that their premises, including outdoor spaces, are fit for purpose. Health and safety policy, and procedures, which cover identifying, reporting and dealing with accidents, hazards and faulty equipment.
Evergreen Early Years takes reasonable steps to ensure the safety of children, staff and others on the premises. In case of fire or any other emergency, an emergency evacuation procedure would be carried out.
Systems are in place to ensure no one can gain access into the building unless authorised to do so. Evergreen Early Years has public liability insurance, this is displayed in the entrance hall.
Evergreen Early Years have a no smoking policy.
Evergreen Early Years have a clear and well-understood policies, and procedures for assessing any risks to children’s safety, and review risk assessments regularly.
Risk assessments should identify aspects of the environment that need to be checked on a regular basis.
Children are kept safe while on outings and written parental permission for children to take part in outings will be obtained prior to leaving the setting.
Evergreen Early Years has assessed the risks or hazards which may arise for the children and will identify the steps to remove, minimise and manage these risks and hazards.
Evergreen Early Years have a policy and procedure, to promote equality of opportunity for children in their care, including support for children with special educational needs or disabilities.
